There are three main categories of studies which can obtain a residence permit: Higher educational programs, Basic and youth study programs and Folk High Schools.
Residence permits – for non-EU/EEA citizens
A non-EU citizen has to apply for a Danish Residence Permit to study in Denmark before coming to Denmark. It has to be proved in writing that:
• The student has been accepted in a higher education course/program at a university, college or institute approved by the Danish Government.
• The student has to complete an entire educational program offered by a Danish Institution of Higher Learning or are a Visitor attending part of a program
• The student has to support him/herself financially for the duration of stay by paying a tuition fee, for the first semester or year.
• a bank statement to support financial stability, which must be less than 30 days old clearly stating in which currency the account is held.
• The student has to speak and understand the language of instruction and have a command in any of these languages: Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German
